Safety guidelines
Effective: 2026-05-03
Rollycar is a peer-to-peer marketplace, and that means safety starts with you. These are common-sense practices we strongly encourage every user to follow.
Before the ride
- Check the other user's profile, photo, and ratings before unlocking. If something feels off, don't unlock.
- Confirm the driver's full name, vehicle make/model/color, and license plate before getting in.
- Drivers: ask passengers to confirm pickup details and counts before departure.
- Share your trip details with a friend or family member.
- Drivers should confirm with their insurance carrier that carrying paying passengers is covered under their policy.
Payment
- Use the driver's stated payout link (Stripe Payment Link or PayPal.me) — both keep a record of the transaction.
- Never wire cash, send gift cards, or pay through anonymous channels.
- Confirm the agreed fare in writing (text or email) before the ride.
During the ride
- Wear your seatbelt. Drivers, ensure all passengers are wearing theirs.
- If anyone is impaired, end the trip immediately.
- Trust your instincts. If you feel unsafe, ask the driver to stop in a populated, well-lit place.
Reporting
If a user behaves abusively, attempts to bypass the platform, or makes you feel unsafe, contact us at info@rollycar.com with the user's name and any context. Repeat offenders are banned.
For emergencies, dial 911 (or your local emergency number) first, then notify Rollycar.
Anti-bypass
Sharing contact info before unlock — through profile bios, ride notes, or offer messages — violates our Terms and is automatically masked from view. Repeat attempts result in a ban.
